How much does it cost to join?
UCAC membership dues include NUCA (National Utility Contractors Association) dues and vary depending on the nature of a member company’s work. Utility Contractor member dues are based on annual revenue, while specialty contractors and associate members have a fixed rate. UCAC and NUCA both held dues flat for 2023. To see our Dues Schedule, click here.
Do you offer discounts on membership dues?
While we recognize and appreciate that UCAC/NUCA dues are an expense for our members, dues are an investment in your company and industry. UCAC and NUCA have worked hard in recent years to improve and expand members benefits to bring more value to dues paying companies. UCAC has a paid executive director and government affairs consultant and actively works to increase members’ return on investment all year long. UCAC keeps overhead low and did not increase member dues for 2023. Any discounts we offer would directly take away from our ability to provide the best services, events, advocacy and representation for our members. We aim to be fair about dues across the board and discounts to new members would favor them over long-time members who have paid full-rate dues for years.
Your membership dues are an investment in the future of our industry, and when you take advantage of all Member Benefits your savings will more than pay for your dues.
Can I get a UCAC Member Directory?
All UCAC members receive a printed Member Directory each year and get a listing (including logo) in the book. New members are also mailed a Directory upon payment of dues. We do not publish, share or post lists of our members and their information to non-members. Members are invited to advertise in the Member Directory, which is mailed to the entire membership in the summer.
I sell products/services to utility contractors. How can I get exposure to UCAC members?
All vendors are encouraged to first join UCAC. When you join, we will work with you to announce your new affiliation with the organization, introducing you, your company and your capabilities via email and social media. Once you join, you can attend UCAC events and network with our membership. There are many additional opportunities for vendor members including presenting to the UCAC Board of Directors, sponsoring events, website and newsletter advertising and hosting the membership at your headquarters for tours and product demos. I’d like to present to UCAC members at an event. Do you have opportunities for professional speakers?
We are always on the lookout for engaging professional speakers and want our events to include valuable insights from industry and thought leaders. UCAC holds 6-8 events each year and welcomes proposals from interested presenters. Limited honorariums are available for professional keynote speakers. Please contact Barb Dimauro at 860.631.7473 or ed@ucac.org for more information.
How can I get involved on the UCAC Board?
The first step toward a leadership role with UCAC is to join a committee. All UCAC members are invited to get involved at the committee level. Choose an area you are passionate about and join us! Working at the committee level will give you experience, access and connections – while allowing you to give back to your industry and have a say in the future of the association. How can I get involved in UCAC/NUCA Government Affairs?
There are many opportunities to be engaged in advocacy for the industry. NUCA’s annual Washington Summit, held each May, provides members the opportunity to participate in meetings with lawmakers and help ensure that legislators understand the important role our industry plays in keeping the country healthy, clean and prosperous.
Members of UCAC receive periodic updates via email and on social media of CT legislative developments from our lobbyist, Andy Markowski and are also invited to meetings with legislators scheduled by UCAC. Members are also encouraged to sign up for NUCA Legislative Action Alerts. You can learn more about NUCA’s Political Action Committee (NUCA/PAC) click here.
Does UCAC/NUCA recognize outstanding members?
Absolutely! We are so proud of our members and their excellence in construction as well as their contributions as employers, community members and participants in our association. NUCA puts out a call for award nominations each fall and shines a spotlight on members with Excellence in Underground, Safety and Members of the Year at the NUCA Annual Meeting.
While UCAC has recognized individual members who go above and beyond individually over the years and we are launching a formal awards program in 2023 with an Awards Gala planned at Mohegan Sun on June 17th.
