The 2019 UCAC Annual Meeting Brought Laughs, a Few Tears

Last Saturday night, May 18th, we held the UCAC Annual Meeting at Wethersfield Country Club.  It was amazing to see so many members, friends and family members in attendance.  We had 110 people registered for the evening, loads of sponsors, and amazing service at WCC.  We started out the night with a cocktail hour sponsored by Able Tool & Equipment with a signature drink, The Ray Tripodina “Day Tripper,” while guests mingled and bid on several silent auction items donated by H.O. Penn and Barber Utilities.  Everyone lined up to purchase their Blinky Rings as well, giving them a chance at winning the diamond bracelet from Dunbar Jewelers.
While comedians Kate Nichols and Rob Ryan had us all laughing thanks to Entertainment Sponsor W.I. Clark, we also took the opportunity to say goodbye to long-time UCAC member and Secretary, Mark Doppstadt, who has retired from his Board position.  We also voted on the 2019-2021 UCAC slate and welcomed new Contractor Directors Pete Rose of Talcott View Development and Dave Murdy from LaRosa Construction.  Former UCAC Treasurer, Dean Logee of United Concrete said a few words about the contribution that Mark Doppstadt has had over the years, followed by a presentation of a special award from UCAC Executive Officers Kevin Plourde, P.E. (President), David Duff (Vice-President), Victor Serrambana, Jr., P.E. and Grant Gorczyca (incoming Secretary).  Mark was also presented with a UCAC hardhat signed by all of our guests.
WCC was filled with camaraderie, laughter and friendship all night.
